Thankfully my Son was in the other room, because that is what just came out of my mouth... The Yankees just SUCK. With the 4 highest individual salaries in MLB (disgusting)... I hope they f***ing crash-and-burn.

The 2009 Yankees = 2008 Tigers... Crash and Burn

As the saying goes... My two favorite MLB teams... The Red Sox, and anyone playing the Yankees.

Pardon me while I just vent.. What the F***

I think Hank just kicked his father off the center-seat, way down below... Don't even get me started on $cott Bora$

Yankees will be bankrupt in 8 years. They have too much salary and too much debt to be able to continue this spending in the current economy. New York City is the epicenter of the financial crisis. 8 years the Yanks will be in Chapter 11 or sold outright.

Dude, I feel your pain. This one just f%$$%*ed up my Xmas in a bad way.

If there is ANY justice in the Baseball Gods Universe they will crush the Yankees next year, but on paper I don;t see how they can be beat.

BTW, here is what the Yankers have spent so far this off-season on 3...count 'em THREE... free agents:

$423 Million.

That sum is higher than the entire payroll for several complete MLB teams combined. May the Yankees burn in hell for all eternity.

--Must add this....I AM a Red Sox fan, but for anyone who protests that the Sox also spend like drunken sailors, I say yes---but to a point. The Yankees have taken this to a level beyond what is reasonable. The sox were 4th highest in payroll last year....whatever they end up spending this year will be nowhere NEAR the final tally for the Yankers.

This is beyond the pale. $423 Million FOR 3 PLAYERS. And they;re probably not done yet.

What makes all that spending even worse is that they asked the city of New York for $370 million in bonds for their new stadium the same week they signed Sabathia!

...and they'll happily pay up.

I love sports but the public financing of stadiums for owners who can clearly afford to pay for it themselves, and should, drives me nuts.

Let's hope the Red Sox can AT LEAST sign Derek Lowe. Otherwise we can just hand the division to the yankees right now.

Pro sports are insane!I'm a pretty damn good carpenter I can frame 'em and finish 'em rough or pristine.I've been doing it for thirty years keep learning and getting better at my job.I'll be lucky if I don't work till I keel over and if every thing I earned added to a single million I'd be pleased.I know athletes work at what they do (maybe not Sabathia he's a fat guy right). But give me a fucking break.Sorry if I was working on Steinbrenner's house I'd still get the same pay as if I worked putting adeck on some plumbers trailer.( maybe not Quite but you get my drift).Forget I mentioned it I've got to go to work.To the Highest!

Let's see Yankees choked once very badly....Boston at least 3 major chokes and several smaller ones....so get a new CHOKE,,,,ERRRR JOKE

BTW don't be jealous that your team balked and couldn't close the deal. Fuck morality....the Yankees make the most and spend the most, you want someone to blame, blame the game as a whole, the Yankees are playing within the boundaries.

cut the whining....Happy Holidays....

Tony Massarotti: "Please, no whining, crying, kvetching or moaning. The Red Sox had their chance. They have the money. They ultimately lost Mark Teixeira to the Yankees for maybe $1-$2 million a year, roughly 1 percent of their 2008 payroll... Whatever the case, the Red Sox now have to deal with the reality that the Yankees are very much back in business in the American League East and that the Sox currently might be nothing more than a third-place team."

yankees can keep spending.
who cares. they have been doing it forever.
question??
when was the last timethey won the world series????
payroll does not = championship
teamwork does. just ask tampa bay
they overpaid for fatbathia
they paid a broken down arm like burnett more than he is worth.
they were bidding against themselves for texeira, boston doesnt want or need him, youkilis is better.
the yankees have the biggest set of balls on this planet.
first they suggest to gov. patterson of ny that they will need public funding for their new crypt. then they go out and spend a half a billion, thats right.. half a billion on 3 players.
i am finished. you can see homelessness on the street right outside yankee stadium, and they have the balls to pull this shit.
i hereby officially put a spell over yankee stadium.
no more champs till they deal with real life issues.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL

DUDE, YOU ARE CLUELESS!!!!
Cashman staid out of the bidding untill the last minute,
After Boras could'nt get the 200 mil. he was seeking
he called the yankees. Besides, Teixeira never wanted to
go to beenie nation anyway. The Yankees would have been stupid to not sign him. Like I said, HAVE SOME CHEESE WITH YOUR WHINE.

What wharf said. Oh by the way, I don't see youz guys giving back the revenue sharing checks we earned from selling our caps to every thug east of Compton. You should be thanking us for the welfare checks. Would you like some food stamps too?

In fact, if memory serves me correctly, it was the Bosox that proved to us Yankee fans that salaries don't mean shit about winning the World Series, by whupping the rich boys from the Bronx. (Just ask Dire.)

So, if it don't mean shit, isn't it just a little early to start whining about it? See youz in October.

From your mouth to the Baseball Gods' ears.

How sweeeeeeet it would be to have a team with a payroll upwards of $400 Million fail to make the playoffs!

Ahhhh, one can dream.....
